After upgrading 10.10.0 to 10.10.1 I installed these QE_CI exotic patch files for my HD4850 graphics card.

When booting with "UseKernelCache=No GraphicsEnabler=Yes"

Sadly the system boots but without any graphics. It stays in the verbose mode without any clear description what went wrong.

When booting with "UseKernelCache=No GraphicsEnabler=No"

The systems boots into a very simple graphics mode and everything seems to work except the real graphics card functionality.

When booting with "AtiConfig=Cardinal"

The following two last lines are printed;

USBMC Identifier (non-unique): 000000009602 0x5e3 0x70e 0x9602, 2

USBMC Identifier (non-unique): 816820120306 0x14cd 0x168a 0x1, 2

Not sure if this is the information needed but it seems the most applicable comparing to al other information from the kernel on the screen.

Does anybody have some tips I can perform, anything other then "reinstall yosemite"? I have a cloned disk on 10.10.0 available from before the upgrade (which does boot with correct graphics).

cheers.

hi

when you install a kext, you need to repair permissions and rebuild the cache

if you boot with UseKernelCache=No it will not load the cache and the kext will not be loaded, no matter if you boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes/No
