I don't know why it's there but I've got a desktop with Kalaways 10.5.1 installed and I've got this eject icon on the menu bar which I'd like to remove. Anyone able to tell me how?

It's just another way of ejecting the CDDVD drive.

That's what I though. Weird thing is when I had a dvd in my drive it still did nothing.

Just goes to show how different folks have different preferences - as I actually *added* the Eject menulet to my menu bar. Here's a quick explanation of how to add, arrange or remove menulets for any switchers or users that aren't aware of how the menulets work.

Yeah i juss experienced the problem myself and i called like 3 apple numbers and asked at da store and they couldnt figure it out.
