sidha
This problem exist from the beginning? I mean right after the os install? My leo went so slow after the Parallels install. Uninstalled, and everything ok again. So, i will use fusion instead. System profiler show only one core here too... but Activity Monitor show 2, i don't know why. My system log looks like in Tiger, so i think both cores working: localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorApicId=1 LocalApicId=0 Enabled localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorApicId=2 LocalApicId=1 Enabled localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorApicId=3 LocalApicId=130 Disabled localhost kernel[0]: AppleACPICPU: ProcessorApicId=4 LocalApicId=131 Disabled
hp4life
If it was just after installation, the slowdown would be due to spotlight indexing your files. If it is still slow after that, I have no idea.
KaiNeR
I have BrazilMac installed on one partition and ToH on another. BrazilMac shows the machine as having 2 cores while ToH says 'Core Solo'.

KaiNeR
Both run very well. I just cant work out how to make the ToH release detect both cores. The only issues i have is ralink usb wifi card doesnt work in either ToH or BrazilMac, but worked perfectly on tiger (jas, uphuck, kalyway&mac.nub)

Nuwdle
This is my first post so bear with me... Leopard is moving at a snail's pace on my laptop. I just got it to boot up last night. Nothing really works, but at least it boots. If I move the mouse, I have to wait 2-10 seconds for a response. I have tried the touchpad, wireless, and wired USB mouses. When I booted, my keyboard was not recognized, although it worked. This is the first time I've really messed with a Mac so I don't know my way around... maybe a dumb idea, but at least I'm adventurous.. how else will I learn, right? Where can I look up system processes, bad drivers, improperly installed devices, and all the normal tools that I'd use in XP's Computer Management and Control Panel? The graphics card appears to be working fine. I can switch resolutions w/o a problem and get the max at 1920x1200. Nothing is crashing on me if I get it to boot, but I don't know where to find out where my massive slowdown is coming from. Thanks for any help you can give... start simple... I'm a complete Noob here.
