Dual booting OSX/WinXP previously working by adding chain0 from DVD to C: and one line within boot.ini textfile (C:\chain0="mac osx") DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE with 10.4.3 install (8f1099)!?

A new trick for that?

Try this.  Use two hardrives.  Make both master (using the jumpers on the back of the drives).  Hook them up, each with its own bus/port/cable (can't think of the terminology).

Boot.  On my machine, I'll just let it boot on its own, and it automatically boots my OSX drive.  If I want windows, I press the ESC key just after turning the machine on.  Thats brings up a boot menu where I can choose the drive with XP.

I didn't mess with any files or settings.. it just worked right off the bat.

I have dual booting fine using the chain0 method.  I have 2 hard drives, Windows on the SATA, OS X on the ATA.  I'm using the built-in bootloader from Windows.

can somebody point me in the direction of the chain0 dual boot tutorial, sounds quite interesting.

Hopefully it will work with an external USB too.
