beston94
Hi there guys, So today I tried installing maverick(10.9) to my PC and I went through all the steps and I got in to the desktop. But my screen was flickering and the system was really slow. I assumed it had something to do with my gpu drivers but I couldn't find any that would work with my OS version. Here are my specs: MOTHERBOARD: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 CPU: AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.01GHz RAM: 16GB DDR3 2207.4 MHz GPU: GIGABYTE Technology NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 GDDR5 4GB Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. nawcom
Nvidia started providing Maxwell support in their Web Drivers in 10.10 so you're out of luck getting your GTX 980 working in 10.9. Sorry As for Sierra you can give it a try. Your CPU has SSE4.1/4.2 instructions so you can use the AMD kernel. The Nvidia Web Drivers for Sierra support Maxwell fine.
