  • 1 month later...

I had such a black screen too but with a Intel GMAX3100, I solved it this way: (THIS SOLUTION ONLY WORKS IF YO HAVE INTERNET ACCESS BY ETHERNET OR USB WIFI OR SOMETHING ELSE. IF YOU DON'T HAVE INTERNET ACCESS BUT AN ANDROID PHONE, DOWNLOAD THE HORNDIS KEXT ON ANOTHER COMPUTER, DRAG IT ONTO AN USB STICK AND INSTALL IT ON YOUR HACKINTOSH. THEN CONNECT YOUR ANDROID PHONE TO THE COMPUTER AND ACTIVATE USB TETHERING IN YOUR PHONE'S SETTINGS.)

1. Boot into OS X with GraphicsEnabler=No so you can login as normal and no black screen.

2. Go into System Preferences -> Screen Sharing and turn it on. Click on "Computer settings...." And set a password under "VNC viewers may control screen with password".

3. go back to System preferences "homepage" and click on "Network".

4. Write down the IP address your computer currently has in the network it is connected to.

5. Expand the "Configure IPv4" section and click "Using DHCP with manual address".

6. Enter the IP you have written down next to "IP address". This keeps the Hackintosh from automatically get new IP addresses from your router or phone (if tethering) after a disconnect or a reboot.

7. Open System Preferences, go to Users & Groups, click on Login Options, then click on the Lock on the bottom of the window, enter your password. Then enable automatic login by selecting your username from the drop down menu. Enter your password. Now you'll be automatically logged in at boot up.

8. Download the VNC Viewer from RealVNC Limited to your android phone and open it.

9. Create a new connection.

10. Enter the IP you have set on your Mac previously and set a name for it like "My Hackintosh" or whatever.

11. Tap on the checkmark. Now try to connect to your Hackintosh and enter the password set in step 2..

12. You should see on the phone what you see on the hackintoshes screen.

13. Reboot your Hackintosh with GraphicsEnabler=Yes.

14. It should automatically log on. So no need to log on it will boot directly to your desktop.

13. Activate tethering on your phone so your Hackintosh will connect to it.

14. Open the VNC Viewer app and connect to it.

15. Now even though the screen on your Hackintosh is black, you should see everything clearly on your phone's screen. That's because your Hackintosh display can't handle the resolution given by OS X. (Or at least my couldn't)

16. Now we gonna change the resolution. If you are connected with your phone, log in, then go to System Preferences, then to Display, and set your Hackintosh display's resolution (normally at 60Hz).

17. Now your Hackintosh display should display correctly.

Greetings!
