drummer10630
I have everything working on my Asus K52JR laptop (i3, ATI 5470) except the LAN, and the trackpad. I have read many online articles, and downloaded kexts that were supposed to enable it, but nothing has worked so far. Anyone get this working? iFIRE
first, you need know that trackpad have your laptop, if is Sinaptics or Elantec, then in download section search for the kexts.
drummer10630
I have tried loading both sets of kexts, but when I load the Synaptics ones, it boots with no USB mouse, trackpad, or keyboard functions, I have even tried using the Synaptics prepreference pane for the trackpad settings and the com.meklort.ps2.helper.plist. When I install the ones for Elantec, I get errors that say the kexts are being refused. See the photo...Is there something I have to delete before installing these? drummer10630
I deleted any ps2controller kext I could find, then isntalled the Elan kexts, but the trackpad is still not working. Is my DSDT calling for some kext thats making the system refuse any other?

drummer10630
Yes, I can see that the myhack.kext has an applePS2controller.kext in it's contents. I repaired permissions and the Elan driver attempted to load but said my hardware was version 2, and beta 4 would not work, I am going to try to find that kext now Version 2 didn't work either. It says my hardware is not supported.

drummer10630
It's not a big deal. I can use external USB mouse, it would just be nice to have it working, in case the mouse breaks, or I forget to pack it. I used this method to do my installation. Supposedly it contains the exact kexts for this laptop, but still no trackpad working. Other owners have said they have gotten theirs to work, but not me. http://www.osx86.net...asus-k52jr.html After more research, I can see that there is not yet a kext for version 2 hardware, but he is accepting beta testers. Guess I will have to wait for the release... I get error upon boot -v that says my hardware is version 2 (0x040102) elan firmware version 262402
