verdant
Do you see just BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 no such file or directory or BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 no such file or directory Bug:launchctl.c:2408 (24687):30: cdefd =open (g_overrides_db_patch.... This issue in my experience is due to a Chameleon bootloader and/or fakesmc.kext version issue problem.......and the problem is usually resolved by trying a different version of Chameleon bootloader and/or fakesmc.kext........ However, since your Asus P8B75-M LE MOBO has a UEFI BIOS, if you have enabled the UEFI BIOS mode, you should be using the Clover UEFI bootloader, which is an EFI bootloader, and not Chameleon, which is a BOOT132 bootloader....... Unless you have the option to disable the UEFI BIOS mode and hence use the legacy MBR BIOS mode, enabling you to use the Chameleon bootloader.........it depends on what bootloader your installation CD employs..... IM members with i7 CPU and Intel / UEFI BIOS MOBO experience should be able to help you further.........

verdant
What install CD are you using? Is it using the Chameleon bootloader? Could the install CD maintainer do a version using Clover? What does your Asus MOBO manual say about the BIOS options for UEFI versus MBR? Have you checked the Asus forums for relevant UEFI versus MBR BIOS related questions? If it is a bootloader issue, you will find it is easier to work with an OS X Mountain Lion USB flash drive-based installer, as it will be much more convenient than a CD installer for trying out different bootloaders and bootloader versions...... tomaszo2
BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 no such file or directory I cant find the option in the BIOS There is no option in BIOS. It is a part of OS X to fasten the bootup-process. Bootcache.playlist is in the invisible folder private on your hd: private//var/db/BootCache.playlist ASUS P5Q Deluxe PreheatedUser: in 10.8.2 I "suddenly" had the problem that the bootcaches couldn´t be found during startup: bootcachecontrol unable to open PreheatedUser...... startup time took ca. 4 times longer than usual. I reinstalled 10.8.2 several times - always the same problem..... (It began with a dead SSD (8 months old) - reinstalling ML on new hd with myhack, because I couldn´t get ##### to make the USB-Stick installer). Everything went fine, but then my keyboard and mouse went crazy, later I even couldn´t type in my password during startup - minor problems with keyboard I had already with 10.8.2 #####. My conclusion now is: be careful with 10.8.2. In private/var/db/Bootcaches there was a folder PreheatedUser and 4 other folders with these long numbers (I deleted the 3 oldest ones later), perhaps resulting from my back and forth with new installations and copying back the User from TimeMachine backup. I read and tried everything that could be found on the internet for several days..... no chance. I tried myHack bootloader, turned back to #####, but did not try different fakesmc.kext....... Now, after going back to 10.8.1, after 2 restarts, the problem is gone. (Bootloader from #####) In private/var/db/Bootcaches there is now an alias for PreheatedUser (before in the corrupt system, it was a folder), and when I want to see the original, I´m shown the folder with the large number inside Bootcaches-folder, but there is no PreheatedUser inside/around (?) Perhaps this could be a solution for other people with the PreheatedUser-problem in 10.8.2: Making an alias of the folder with these many numbers and letters, and rename this alias PreheatedUser. I don´t know, perhaps it s stupid....... I´m only an expert of "try and error".
