**FOR THOSE WHO'VE TRIED EVERYTHING TO LOGIN TO ICLOUD/MESSAGES AND CAN'T. USE THIS KEXT**

PlatformUUID.kext

--------------------------------------

I tried every solution and combination to fix the issue. I could log into the Mac App Store and iTunes Store, however I couldn't login to iCloud or Messages account. I kept getting a message saying "This is an Apple ID but not a valid iCloud account."

For some reason my Hardware UUID was causing a conflict and using the built-in UUID changer in Chameleon's boot.plist wasn't able to change my UUID either.

This kext will force the UUID to change. Be sure to install it to S/L/E and not E/E.

Godspeed.

PS - Thanks to Superhai for making this kext!

Hi Stellarola, first of all I want to say thank you very much for all your contributions to the community.

Then, in my case I fixed the problem just following this tip by the master bcc9 to generate a valid - customized system UUID:

As of 10.7, you should have a SystemId defined as the 1340 doesn't have a UUID defined in its SMBIOS and booting hangs for a minute or so without it. I recommend you customize the template value I provided with the output from uuidgen (run from a terminal window).

So, from my org.chameleon.Boot.plist I have for example:

SystemId

6858A18D-0C0E-9EEE-7FB9-C5F600323428

Best regards.

From my past experience I wasn't able to get Chameleon to properly utilize the SystemId string. Ill give it another shot tomorrow to verify. Thanks for the replies, guys

From my personal experience, either value is fine to the Systemid as long as it's the same all the time.

Well, odd thing happened. It didn't create the UUID I wanted it to create with "SystemId" string. I'm not too worried about that, it at least allowed me to login to Messages and fixed the original conflict.

FTW. Thanks fellas

Yep, that's exactly what happened to me too. But as you keep this id unchanged, no matter which hack you're running as long as this systemid is the same, the HardwareUUID would be the same. :D chameleon may have other methods to create HardwareUUID while clover will make your HardwareUUID be the exact one you set in Systemid :D

That's all my personal experience. Hope it helps.
