  1. Hi, I will add a new network card (HP NC360T) to to my system which works OOTB. Therefore I will disable my current onboard lan which is currently recognized as en0. After deleting the obsolete Kext for my disabled onboard card, which plist do I have to delete, to get the first port of my new network card to be recognized as en0? Naturally it will be recognized as en1, which causes problems with Messages. Which other steps would be necessary (eg. rebuild caches)?

  3. **FOR THOSE WHO'VE TRIED EVERYTHING TO LOGIN TO ICLOUD/MESSAGES AND CAN'T. USE THIS KEXT** http://cl.ly/3T2m2U2n332O ^ PlatformUUID.kext -------------------------------------- I tried every solution and combination to fix the issue. I could log into the Mac App Store and iTunes Store, however I couldn't login to iCloud or Messages account. I kept getting a message saying "This is an Apple ID but not a valid iCloud account." For some reason my Hardware UUID was causing a conflict and using the built-in UUID changer in Chameleon's boot.plist wasn't able to change my UUID either. This kext will force the UUID to change. Be sure to install it to S/L/E and not E/E. BEFORE: AFTER: Godspeed. PS - Thanks to Superhai for making this kext! -stell

    FileNVRAM Source Code

Hello Everyone, For those of you interested in taking a look at the FileNVRAM module, source code for an upcoming (1.1.4) version of the module has been aded into our public xZenue svn repository here: http://public.xzenue.com/websvn/listing.php?repname=FileNVRAM If you have an bugs or patches that you'd like to make, please do so by filing a bug report at https://public.xzenue.com/bugzilla/ Do note that the source code has the same license as the previous FileNVRAM module releases: FileNVRAM is licensed under the Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported license. A copy of the license file is included in the svn repository. We'd also like to request that forks are not made of the FileNVRAM module, instead, we'd like to integrate any good and useful changes into the official release.
  5. Before you say "there are 100 other threads about this", I have looked around and not found a fix that works for me. I don't know exactly what info I need to tell you in here, other than messages worked fine for me on 10.8.5, then upgraded to mavericks when it released and I cannot log in. Originally I was getting a "An error occurred during activation. Try again." None of the solutions I attempted caused a changed in this error, except when I changed my appleID password. Now I am just getting a hang when I try to log into iMessage, but still no successful login. I am using Chimera 2.2.1 (which i think bundles the most recent chameleon). Everything I read says that this boot loader is supposed to fix the iMessage issue but it seems not to in my case. I have gone through the replacing the FileNVRam and having the nvram.plist regenerated. I don't know exactly what is supposed to be in this plist (forums I have read seem to give sporadic advice about this). I realize that to receive help, I probably need to post more information for you, but I don't know what that is at this point. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer, as I am out of ideas on how to proceed. Will update this thread if I find a solution. UPDATE: Fixed using the official chameleon from the downloads section on this site, instead of chimera. This did not work for me the first few times I had tried, so YMMV on this? Not exactly sure why it fixed it on the 3rd of 4th try.
  6. Since I installed OS X on my Hackintosh, I’ve been facing this one problem with both iMessage and FaceTime: they’re both not working, instead I’m being greeted with a window saying the following: So I’ve decided to write a post explaining how I actually was able to get it work, so let’s begin shall we? First, you’re gonna need a real serial number, not a fake one, and I actually found a post explaining just how to do that, for more information just visit this link, try rebooting when done. If you get iMessage to work after rebooting, then congratulations! You got iMessage working! If not, read on. Second, you’re gonna need to call Apple support, you can call them on the number corresponding to your country or you can simply use Skype or magicJack to call them on their US customer support number, more info here. In my case, the answer machine picked up the phone, asking me to provide it with the device’s model and serial number, just ignore and it should redirect you to the director of the call centre or another person at Apple support. Now, he’ll ask you to describe the issue, tell him the following: They will probably ask you to provide them with your name, a callback number (if you’re calling from outside the US you don’t have to, just tell them), the serial number and your Apple ID. Once you’re done, all you have to do is quit out of iMessage/FaceTime and open it again, and you should be able to login and use it normally. Enjoy!
