glenlivet
Hello all! I have some kind of trouble as I would like to install os x on an old Dell D810. I can't find any option that could enable AHCI in the Dell BIOS. However, I have seen that some people have been able to install Leopard on this machine. Any idea about how I should work it out? And do you think I could install Snow Leopard on this machine? Thanks
3.14r2
Some BIOS versions have AHCI enabled by default (read NO need to enable it manually). Therefore such settings (AHCI on/off) may not be present at all. In other words if it is not there, doesn't mean it is not present and enabled. It is specially true for entry level notebooks. These notebooks have very basic BIOS where only few things might be changed.
LatinMcG
in other cases a dsdt fix is available to enable ahci with registers.

And I now have it triple booting XP, Leopard and Snow Leopard. Also, for all OS X stuff on Latitudes you should look at OSXLATITUDE.com where you will find specific support for these laptops. neil
