Beerkex'd
If you want any help with that you'll need to provide some information. Is it a SATA or PATA drive, and what controller make and model is it connected to? If you don't know, look in your motherboard manual or use google. Beerkex'd
If your DVD drive is SATA, it should appear there among the hard drives. Are you absolutely sure that your DVD drive is SATA? What make and model is the drive? What motherboard do you have?

Beerkex'd
I need to know the exact model of your Samsung DVD drive, there are several different models that bear the "Writemaster" name. If the drive is really SATA, make sure it is attached to the ICH8 (six ports) controller, and not the JMicron (two ports) or the Silicon Image (one port) controller. Refer to your motherboard manual to see which ports on the board belong to which controller. If you don't have a copy of the manual, download one from the ABIT website. dawg78s
Hello guys, have Snow Leopard 10.6.4, retail install on GA-EP35-DS3R with Realtek ALC889A audio and I'm booting in 64 bit mode. I've been having DVD not recognized for a long time, this is what solved it finally! JMicronATA.kext.AllJMicron.IDE.x86_64.zip from here: http://cid-8b65993ef55cf014.office.live.co...ontrollers%20== This is a x64 driver, so I don't think it would work if you boot SL in 32bit, be careful if you try it out!
