Ootlink, i hope that this will be the final fix for the f11 series! It's 1 year that i'm waiting to install a full working snowleopard on a sony vaio! Is there a tool to modify the bios? Because it would be great to change our internal wifi card with a working one... I have a recognized card that i bought for an old hp laptop, maybe someone could find a way to change the whitelist!

It's not the backlight, the backlight is on, the display device is not detected correctly.

This {censored} LCD issue is becoming a real pain forever...! No chance to see a fully working VAIO with OSX I think...

I'm getting the same thing, even though it seems that the external monitor SHOULD work, at least for a lot of VAIO users out there...

Does the bluescreen goes away if you disconnect and reconnect again the hdmi cable?

I have full qe/ci and resolution on hdmi. I posted everything here in the thread.

if I want to boot with internal display, i write "nv_disable=1" to the chameleon boot options. If I se hdmi only, I leave the boot untouched.

No, the blue screen doesn't go away Frank, please post your DSDT.aml, chameleon and kexts that you use, because I ran trough the whole thread, and didn't found anything that helped.

Almost everything works in that VPCF115FM, 10.6.7 (if I install 10.6.8, it cannot boot), latest BIOS, audio, wifi and internal vesa display at 1280x800 works fine. It just need QE and CI, at least on external screen. Thank you!

I had it working with lion when it was at 10.7 once i updated i never got it to work. it keeps having a conflict with the graphics i believe and would never boot.. have to boot with some legacy kexts in the extra folder but that only works on the 10.7

Well now is time to simple pass my work in Sony Vaio VPC F Series, I had one VPCF130-FB from Brazil with 310m, i5... I had successfully install Mountain Lion DP3 with Fully QE/CL working on it right OOB, but only in External HDMI, I uses DSDT and all Mountain Lion Kext without enabler only GraphicsEnabler=yes getting Full Resolution of 1920x1080X32@60. So, the big point is after all this great discussion, to has a fully working LCD with QE/CL in Native 1920x1080x32 resolution, but i can't get this working on LCD.

Maybe some DSDT injection do the work with the LCD panel I guess...

Someone has tried out some DSDT injections to correct this issue?

Please don[t let this post get lost, let's make this thing works!

Now I successfully Installed Mountain Lion, we really has more job to do.

What about connecting the internal lcd connector to the external hdmi port by using a built adapter?

As far as I can remember the Vaio F11 has a LVDS connector for the internal LCD. So we would need a HDMI to LVDS converter/adapter.

Hey guys, this probably has nothing to do with the problem of getting the internal screen to work, but have you ever noticed the dip switches behind the keyboard?

In this link, it is mentioned that the dip switch has to be set up in order to use some replacement LCDs for Vaio:

I remember to have read somewhere that for specific LCD replacements, if the dip switches are misconfigured, the result is a screen with the backlight off, which resembles the situtation we get with GraphicsEnabler=yes on MacOS, I reckon. Sorry, but I cannot find the link where someone who has tested mentions it, but there's an interesting discussion here:

It's a shot in the dark, but I wonder if changing the default dip switch setting can actually help the nvidia macos driver to detect the internal screen. Unfortunately I don't have a MacOS installed on my Vaio VPCF12 any more to test it. What do you think?
