ATI Radeon Mobility x1400 Working with full resolution and QE/CI Enabled

I tried this already a few month ago, but had to use the 'Mouselocater'-method because of heavy tearing...today I tried again with Michael's kexts and this works on my T60p w/ full res & without mouse tearing!
Does anybody have an idea how to mirror the display to a second (external) display?
Any suggestions would B appreciated....
cheers, 'a' newbie ;-]

EDIT: Unchecked enableHWCursor in RadeonHD.kext's Info.plist and it seems to have fixed it, but I still get no QE/CI. My entire System Profiler output under Graphics/Displays is:
Mobility Radeon X1400:

Any clue what's wrong and why Quartz Extreme isn't working?
Yeah, be sure not to make a copy of your old ATIRadeonx1400 kext and leave it there. It messed me up. Using your instructions, I have it working with resolution change and Quartz Extreme. Thank you SO MUCH.

Then should all be fine, without the sleepmode.
Working perfect now on 10.6.3, but experiencing some mouse/cursor problems, (don't know if it happened to anyone else) it disappears sometimes on software like Messenger, Office, and some other i don't remember right now. It gets very annoying! Any help appreciated, Thanks in advice. Everything else is smooth and perfect.

Maybe, you forgot to add the EDID to the RadeonHD.kext.
Then should all be fine, without the sleepmode.
I finally solved my problem. For anyone experiencing the same problem... I downloaded the RadeonHD.kext (05/13/2010) from topic http://www.insanelym...howtopic=190586
Simply copied the info.plist from the contents folder of the RadeonHD I had to the one from the topic, and now, problem solved.
Just wanted to share. Thanks Michael

I have tried this on IBM T60 with 1400x1050 on 10.6.3 and NO mouse tearing but DVD Player doesn't work and FrontRow complained about incorrect or unknown video format.
DVD player and FrontRow works if I don't install RadeonHD.kext but with mouse tearing.
Any Ideas?
Thanks!

Thanks! I originally tried this with my own EDID - I couldn't find SoftMCCS so I used xrandr under Linux. I got QE/CI, but had problems with cursor corruption, esp. when viewing full screen video. I then tried your R60 kexts on my T60 and it works almost perfectly. I have a wide range of resolutions available (never had that before!). The only fly in the ointment is that DVD Player doesn't work, but there are other options that do. Sleep, as always, is a no go.SL-Server Kextfiles!!! Now i have a fully working X1400mobility on an Snowleopard Retail 10.6.2
I have the same Problem with snowleopard - no QE / CI.
I have full resolution, can change resolution, but cannot make screenshots.

I believe that i do everything correctly, but i dont know why it doesnt work. My device is dell inspiron 6400 c282.
After i created kext files, firstly i install ATıx1000 kext, then repair permissions on disk utility and when restart, i cant open the computer. I got stuck on apple logo, screen blinded 1 times, and loading stopped, sometimes mouse cursor appear and lost, thats all. I cant open so i cant install my 2nd kext file.
When i edit first kext, install it, it crashes my comptuer. (iatkos s3 snow leopard)
How can i fix it?
and my 2nd question. Can i install a ready kext which u created before? will it work on my pc?

first try this, worked for me..
I have mine working properly, still working on other issues though. I used the ATIRadeonX1000.kext from the first post in http://www.insanelym...p...196083&st=0
and went to the thread linked in post #48, http://www.insanelym...howtopic=190586 but I then edited my EDID into the latest RadeonHD.kext (I put it in the same place that it was in the RadeonHD.kext from the first post, followed instructions (repairing permissions, etc after each kext) and everything appears to be working including Front Row!
It may help if you use a disk such as the EmpireEFI disk to boot when you reboot..
It appears you must get your own EDID, I am finding it different on similar systems
second yes you can install other people's kexts, as long as it is for a similar system of course, I only caution you that if you make a custom RadeonHD that you use your own EDID....
caution, I am a newb, but these have been my experiences so far, hope it helps

Actually I tried to installed the Snow Leopard 3 times with no success of QE/CI
My original resolution is just 1024*768 so I didn't pay a lot attention on this issue.
Therefore in ATIRadeonX1000.kext I've also tried adding DevID "7149" but still no QE/CI effect.
Anything I can do, any ideas ?
Thanks

YOu should have installed "pfix" from sojugarden.
http://osx86.sojugar...-v3-1-released/
The Snowleopard Cache is more Tricky.
Delete all Graphics-kext files, Copy the files from 10.6.3 kextpackage, change the EDID, start pfix from terminal as root, reboot and hope.
Kextpackage for 10.6.3 in my Signature.
