Diranged
Has anyone else experienced some instability using Desktop Manager on their OSx86 box? I've got a ASRock P4Dual (Socket 478) board w/ the Intel GMA graphics, a 2.4GHz Intel P4 Prescott chip (with SSE3 instructions) and I am seeing some wierdness... So far 3 times today I've had the system crash when I switch desktops. Twice with the Intel port of Destkop Manager, and once with the PPC version. The Intel version crashes with some crazy green-graphics on the screen. The PPC version just freezes the system. Is it possible its a core Graphics problem -- I love the Cube Effect and have been using that. I am trying it now with "None" as the effect.. but I was wonder if anyone else has seen this issue? wargod212
I also have problems with Desktop Manager. I tried both the intel and ppc version. It doesn't do any of the effects (i love the cube effect also). If i'm on desktop 1 and open a window and switch to desktop 2 and close desktop manager. I won't be able to see the window on desktop 1 til open up desktop manager and return to desktop 1. desktop manger has an option to collect all windows to desktop if you exit. ("Quitting Behaviour"). Diranged
I also have problems with Desktop Manager. I tried both the intel and ppc version. It doesn't do any of the effects (i love the cube effect also). Do you have Quartz Extreme and Core Graphics running? These features do not work if you don't have those capabilities.. If i'm on desktop 1 and open a window and switch to desktop 2 and close desktop manager. I won't be able to see the window on desktop 1 til open up desktop manager and return to desktop 1. desktop manger has an option to collect all windows to desktop if you exit. ("Quitting Behaviour"). this is normal if you don't have that collectall windows option turned on...
wargod212
It must be that i don't have Quartz Extreme and Core Graphics. I have the option turned on.

ltning
Hoi, this is the old "official" release, right? How about compiling up the latest version? It works better with Tiger, although it is in many ways very different from the old version... Oh and I've spoken with the developer, he has pretty much given up on Desktop Manager due to the usual problem of not enough time ... So any decent coder who wants to pick up on it and "finish" it (i.e. implement the last missing features from the 0.5x series), feel free But in the meantime, an intel/universal binary of the current 0.6 snapshot would be brilliant (sticky windows will work...) Thanks, /Ltning
Jason_Thames
Bump for Ltning... I have tried out the 0.6 Snapshot... its really cool. It has loads more features than the 0.53 source had. The interface is completely different as well. I would like it so very much if we could mabye work on compiling an Intel version of this app. Any help would be great! Here is a copy of the app compiled from the 0.6 Snap (PPC Only...). Thanks! Desktop Manager 0.6 PPC Regards, -Jason
