tdtran1025
I would appreciate someone who has the knowledge of installing PCEFI 10.4 post an instruction or is there an installation package? I came across an BootCD from somewhere in this forum that supports Asus motherboards. The CD was awesome. It supports CD boot and everything else. I wish I knew how to install this CHameleon2-RC4 onto my HD. I had the Chameleon2-RC1 installed before I switched to BootThink and now I want to go back but lost my way. Anyone? mitch_de
Simple install latest Chameleon2-RC3 from the chameleon site. Then DL and copy(=use) the boot file from PC-EFI 10.4.x to the root of the installed chameleon HD. At least for non RAID systems that works. Difference between Chameleon and PC-EFI is that boot file (lokated in / of the HD) Be aware that some boot flags changed since Chameleon RC3 and PC_EFI 10.4: -x32 for 32 Bit is GONE!, use -arch=i386 for 32 Bit now !!! If you need 32 Bit and use old -x32 flag it will overlook that and use default 64Bit - and KP if you need 32 Bit. tdtran1025
You are kind mitch_de, But what I want to learn is how the installation goes. If I keep using packages, I would not be able to do it. BTW, is the RC3 a package or does it using install scripts? I need to know how to use the normal installation procedure. Thanks a million. mitch_de
The Chameleon Install .pkg is an "ALLINONE" install routine, means you dont need any terminal commands like fdisk & Co. The Partiton you selected to install CH on is made active(by internal "AI" ) and ready for usage. The only thing after the install is to configure the generated /EXTRA folder content with maybe needed own .kext and .plist with boot options and perhaps efi string. pkdesign
Simple install latest Chameleon2-RC3 from the chameleon site. If you need 32 Bit and use old -x32 flag it will overlook that and use default 64Bit - and KP if you need 32 Bit. Hmmm. If I change the flag to -arch=i386 my computer will boot into 64 bit mode. If I use -x32 it will boot into 32 bit mode. Also, oddly enough, if I boot (using -arch=i386) my Ethernet stops working. I use the latest version of Chameleon and PC EFI 10.4.1.
