Tried to get my 4350 to work wirhout success.

I updated to Snow 10.6.2 and I was able to boot up in 1400x1050 Resolution into SL.

This was not possible with 10.6.1 (not screen, only grey solid with some random pixels)...

After that i added the Device Id's to ATi4500Controller.kext and ATIRadeonX2000.kext.

Kernal Panic after Kextutility! Tried to setup kextcache in singleuser boot...

After that KP while booting into SL!

Any solutions?

My vendor details:

0x954F1002

Chip Number: RV710 Chip Description: ATI Radeon HD 4350 Notes: Ati Tehnologies inc./advanced MicroDevices.Inc

I tried the drivers of netkas but they do not work ... I inserted the beta boot file to the root, I installed the kexts ATISupport, ATIFramebuffer, ATIRadeonX2000 and ATi4500Controller with kext b7 and my Device ID. Then I boot into verbose but the computer appears to stop responding to this line:

** Device in slot: SLOT--1 **

ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin:: start waitForService(ressourceMatching(AppleIntelCpuManagement) timed out.

virtual bool IOHIDEEventSystemUserClint::itinWithTask (taks*, void*,UInt32):Client task no privileged to open IOHIDESystem for mapping memory

Maybe I just had to put the kexts in / Extra / Extensions with new extension.mkext ... I hope to find a solution here... :(

Thank you in advance,

third3 (sorry for my english)

I've tried the 4350 now in 10.6.2 but no luck so far. I get kp at boot all the time related to the ATIRadeonX2000.kext.

Have tried both the beta booter and PC EFI 10.5 with the device id replaced (0x945f) in the *X2000.kext and the ATI4500Controller.kext.

I'm one step closer!!!

Using the supplied beta booter, i was able to get to desktop after inserting my devID in ATIRadeon4500Controller. I installed that kext along with the ATIFramebuffer and ATISupport kexts.

My devID was already in atiRadeonX2000.kext.

However, upon reaching the desktop it was all pixelated, i don't know how to describe it.

If i remove the atiradeonX2000.kext i get a high resolution change, but no QE/CI.

All we need is a working atiradeonX2000 kext!

So you used the original chameleon boot file, are you using 10.6.2 as well? What is your device id?

I may add that during mine attempt I used the vga connector, but it should not produce a kernel panic, or?

Using 10.6.2 I was able to boot and display the snow leo desktop (with unmodified kexts) with the 4350, so some improvement at least ;)

I made an error in my previous post, but now its fixed. I used the beta booter from Netkas's site. when i tried using Chameleon RC4 my monitor turned off once boot finished. ;)

So right now i'm looking at a pretty resolution, but everything is a bit glitchy kuz no QE/CI. I want to know what must be done to the ATIRadeonX2000 kext to get this working!

And yes, i'm using 10.6.2.

EDIT::

The ATIRadeonX2000.kext ALREADY HAS THE devID for 0x954f1002 (the HD4350.)

DON'T add the devid to that kext, i'm sure it would only cause problems.

That's strange, because I don't have that device ID in my kext from the beginning.

I made a list of the ones I have in ATIRadeonX2000.kext (10.6.2):

How odd....

I know that with 10.6.0 and .1 i had OTB working wifi, but 10.6.2 removed its compatibility so i had to revert to the older kext.

So your 10.6.2 did not have the ID but 10.6 did?

Well anyways. What we need is for Netkas to take another look at this...

Okay... I take the risk and get Asus EAH4350 512MB Silent earlier today.

After spending 15 minutes, I get it fully working with QE/CI Enabled with netkas booter and driver

I posted the instructions at my new blog:

http://www.xhackintosh.com/ati-radeon-hd-4...pard-qe-ci.html

- Full HD 1920x1080 resolution

- Transparent menu bar

- Dashboard ripple effects

- VLC Windowed and Fullscreen (tested with 720p and full hd 1080p video, smooth playback)

- Chess game

- All Screen savers works

All works great...

Yes, exactly in the same manner, I tried with other boot loaders than the beta one as well. I got kp related to the x2000 kext all the time. Maybe I didn't use all the files in 4xx0 directory, which kexts are loaded on your working config?

Same here, the X2000 kext from 10.6.2 with added pci-id causes kernel panic all the time. I tried with X2000 from 10.6.0 - that one did not cause kernel panic, but couldn't initialize the display properly, and the boot process got stuck. I think we just need to get the right version of that kext to make it work.

Can anyone who got it working post their X2000 kext?
