Use this driver. I prepatched it and it gives audio in/out from the back panel and volume control is working. I'm trying to get the front panel working too, but for some reason it doesn't. I'll keep on trying and if I get it to work I'll post the kexts.

Thank you very much for the ALC662 pre-patched kext. Yours is the only one that works properly on my eeePC 8G model 702 (running XxX 10.4.11)

By the way, congrats on getting accepted into medical school ... I understand the exhilaration... I'm trained as an alternative medicine physician and very much into biology too :D

no sound on my system 2. ^_^

I had to add my Vendor iD on the file AppleHDA.kext -> AppleHDAController -> info.plist.

My sound card is ALC662 but with Vendor iD of 0x07fc10de (which didn't exist in the file before).

Now it works 100%, thanks all.

i modify as you told with plist editor.

but with my ID now i don't have any sound card listed on system, if i use the unedited one i can move the volume slider i can see line in, mic, line out, but no sound at all.

Edit: mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm you just wan't to say to me that a D instead of d is the error?

:) to me

Sais here, as a tutorial for ur Mobo, that if u follow the instructions, sound works out of the box:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=113623

BTW, my patch is 0xD6048086 and not 0x8086D604 as you mentioned. The correct is the reverse order.

nothing.

no sound icon, no sound card with this ID.

very strange.

Can you check on Windows Device Manager if you have something like "Microsoft UAA High Definition Audio"?

If yes, post the iD of that device here.

This is where i got my device iD, because this is the controller of the card, and thats what we're looking for your patch.

Ok i can see you gave me the wrong id :(

As i said its not that one, its something on your Device Manager under "System Devices" called "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio".

If you find this device on your computer, thats the id we're looking for...

Weird you're supposed to have that, or something similar "High Definition Audio" since you're on an Intel board with Intel controllers.

If not, i'm sorry i can't help.

EDIT: Ok i just saw your edit.

that ID is in the archive.zip posted by Dr.

with that ID i can see volume icon, i can choose line out /optical, mic/line in, but no sound at all.

i use headphones and tried every output from the MB.

i think that the problem is: this is a 5.1 version of the ALC662, the mono core version has the 2 channels.

Last option then, you can give a try AzaliaAudio.pkg.
