alvinsclee
Use this driver. I prepatched it and it gives audio in/out from the back panel and volume control is working. I'm trying to get the front panel working too, but for some reason it doesn't. I'll keep on trying and if I get it to work I'll post the kexts. Thank you very much for the ALC662 pre-patched kext. Yours is the only one that works properly on my eeePC 8G model 702 (running XxX 10.4.11) By the way, congrats on getting accepted into medical school ... I understand the exhilaration... I'm trained as an alternative medicine physician and very much into biology too

Denicio
no sound on my system 2. I had to add my Vendor iD on the file AppleHDA.kext -> AppleHDAController -> info.plist. My sound card is ALC662 but with Vendor iD of 0x07fc10de (which didn't exist in the file before). Now it works 100%, thanks all.

Denicio
nothing. no sound icon, no sound card with this ID. very strange. Can you check on Windows Device Manager if you have something like "Microsoft UAA High Definition Audio"? If yes, post the iD of that device here. This is where i got my device iD, because this is the controller of the card, and thats what we're looking for your patch.

IronFly
that ID is in the archive.zip posted by Dr. with that ID i can see volume icon, i can choose line out /optical, mic/line in, but no sound at all. i use headphones and tried every output from the MB. i think that the problem is: this is a 5.1 version of the ALC662, the mono core version has the 2 channels.
