Lost files in 10.5.3 IOAHCIFamily.kext

I've been trying to get AHCI in my ICH9R mobo with 10.5.3 for a couple of days with little luck, the only why to get the disk working was using 10.5.2 kexts. After so much tests a guy sent me the correct AppleAHCIPort.kext and IOAHCIFamily.kext 10.5.3 files, and that's when I went completly ??????

 

AppleAHCIPort.kext was almost exact to the one from the stock AppleComboUpdate 10.5.3 file (he just added some pci id's), but IOAHCIFamily.kext was a completly different story.

I've searched everywhere and I've not been able to find those missing files, also the guy who sent me them doesn't know where they come from.

On the other hand there is an additional difference in the few files in the stock 10.5.3 IOAHCIFamily.kext, the section which makes the drivers appear as internal was missing.

 

So, what's happening with 10.5.3 update? Why are those files missing in the combo update? Where the correct ones this guy sent me came from?

Updates, even CombiUpdates must not have all files of an app, bundle or .kext !

Sometimes only an info.plist is changing und so only that file is within the .kext or bundle update.

All others are on its place and so the update only updates that one info.plist.

 

I hope you understand.

 

This is also an thing, why Apple Apps and Tools should stay in their orig. Paths (/Applications e.g.).

Never delete on whole kext before such an update, even if its listed in the update list, it may NOT be updates COMPLETE.
