. . AppleACPIPlatform.kext is fundamental to OSX86. What install method did you use? . . the ToH DVD? . . the brazilmac technique? . . pacifist?

I have the same issue too! I guess the main problem is:

Extension "com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi components; use only one style.

I got a speedstep package of netkas from irc and also got such problem. I am using ToH RC2 as well.... (so by now I don't have speedstep also)....

Need a great deal of help~ :censored2:

I have the same problem.

It won't go any further without -x -v for me and usually hangs after ACPI_SMC_CtrlLoop: initCPUCtrlLoop - pmCPUControl ... yada yada

then after that line it does say: display: family specific matching fails

which usually it says the display: family specific matching fails and gets beyond it with -x -v, i'm unsure if there's a display issue or if its this other ACPI thing or if that's related. etc.

But I believe I'm having the same issue as others here.

Using the ToH dvd with some EFI patching among other things.

I had the same problem, I have a 6 machine cluster for maya rendering. this is what i did.

booted with -f (this got me to the GUI), so I deleted the acpi kext, removed kernel cache, and extensions.mkext.

used kext helper to install the older acpi kext.

repair permissions

reboot

It worked!!!

I attached the acpi kext that I used.AppleACPIPlatform.kext.zip
