FOR VISTA ONLY!!!

My theory to dual booting is it may be possible to dual boot your vista pc with another os by following these steps

TO DO THIS YOU NEED A VISA INSTALL DVD AND NOT A RECOVERY DISK FOR THIS TO WORK!!!

I HAVE NOT YET TRYED THIS YET AND I WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LOST DATA OR CORRUPT OSes OR ANY PROBLEMS!!!

Skip ahead to step 4) if you dont need to partition your hdd first.

Step 1) First click the start menu then right click my computer and click manage.

Step 2) Once the computer manage window is open you click Disk Management on the left bar.

Step 3) Right click the hard drive you want to use and right click and click shrink volume. Now type in the amount you want for the other os. Now the volume should be unallocated space so leave it at that.

Step 4) Now place your install disk in the cd/dvd drive and reboot the pc to install it to the partition you just made(or had already).

Step 5) Once install is complete you reboot your pc and inster the vista DVD in and go to repair>automatic boot repair(I'm not 100% sure on the path because I haven't repaired vista for a wile) and follow on screen instructions reboot your pc and vista should work.

Step 6) To get back into the new OS you just installed simply open the start menu the right click my computer then click manage.

Step 7) Once the computer manage window is open you click Disk Management on the left bar.

Step 8) Now righ click the new OSes partition and click mark partition active. Now reboot.

Step 9) To get back to vista you need to pop the vista DVD back in and repair startup.

Step 10) To get back back in to the other os repete step Step 6) to Step 8).

Best of luck to those who try, and me myself will be trying this soon and tell the news....ENjoY :D

um.... you're trying to dupe some n00b into nuking his own rig before you try this on yours? It will probably work, not the dual-boot, the part about duping the noobz.

Here's another theory for how to dual boot. Go read the official un-official <a href:"http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page"> OSX 86 Wki </a>.
