Featherking
I got 10.4.4 installed without a hitch but my display is screwy. I have an integrated intel i think its a 915G chipset. But in 10.4.4 my resolution is 800×600 and 256 colors, but actually looks more like 8 colors, and its hard to read the text. Any ideas on how to fix this? i dont expect to find any drivers and i cant write my own, Any ideas? jbjonas
Have you tried specifying a resolution in the file com.apple.Boot.plist? It's in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ The lines you want to add are: <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1024X768X32</string> you can also use different resolutions or color depths. I suggest using capitol 'X' You may also specify a refresh rate if your graphics card accepts it. ie 1200X800X16@85 (or @60 for 60Hz) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9938-1044-dvd-install-display-problems/#findComment-62185 Share on other sites
Featherking
I was looking through the forums and stumbled upon a fix(?) It was simple, 'change the memory buffer in the bios to the maximum'. I checked mine, it was set to 1 Mb so i upped it to 7 Mb, and voila! 1024x768x32(?). The wierd thing is - It says refresh rate N/A, and i cant change to any other resolution... But i can run everything fine. Now i need to get my Network card recognized and ill be alright.. P.S. I am dual booting this with WinXP using the chain0 and it is working slick!
