p5k-e sleep / shutdown problem

I'm not sure weather this should go here, in installation, or post installation, so sorry if this is in the wrong place. Please feel free to move it.

Basically, I've probably spend close to two weeks tweeking this thing. I've got a dual boot working, but I can't get the sleep or shut down to work. I know this is a common problem with this board, but my simptoms are slightly different; when I try to sleep, it won't even go to sleep (fans wont' turn off), whereas, most people just have a problem when it wakes up.

The thing that I find strange is I had this same problem in windows, but it was fixed by a BIOS flash. I am really stumped on this one. I tried the netkas 9.2 kernals and the ACPI update, from the first kalyway post. If anyone has even a hypothesis, I'm open to anything. I really have no clue.

Thanks to everyone in advance.

btw: I'm on kalyway 10.5.2 and have ACPI 2.0 disabled in BIOS (I tried it with it on and it still didn't work).

whats your grafic card and how do you run it ?

do you run vanilla ?

did you edit the kexts, with proper matching ID´s.

all in there might be the problem.

my sleep came with a reinstall in 10.5.2, 10.5.1 was fine.

shutdown and reboot do as they like.

I have a GeForce 8800GT and honestly, the only thing I did was install Scott Dangel's NVinstaller. I used the 10.5.2 kernals, so I don't think I used vanilla, but I'm not sure on that. I'll have to check.

If I used the NVinstaller do I still need to edit ID's, and if so which id's?
