mUsicXbEAt
I have finally figured out what I did wrong in this guide. So now OSX is doing the first start setup (detecting type of keyboard, language, etc.) It showed the pretty cool universe "Welcome" startup video thing. When I get to the page of "Do You Already Own a Mac?" I select "Do not transfer my information now" and then press "Continue". Unfortunately, after this it just hangs and nothing happens. The "Do You Already Own a Mac?" screen just stays put. I can't change any options. I can eject the disk with "F12" though and I can move the mouse. But I can't hear any disk activity and after a few seconds the rainbow circle thingy starts to spin. After about a minute a gray screen appears and it restarts to the "Welcome" video again. Any ideas on how to bypass this? I've followed this guides exact setup: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...c=75295&hl= I have a Dell XPS 410 (SATA drive!!!) I'm using the ToH 10.5 9a581 Leopard image. If you need any more info let me know! (I have an external HDD and a laptop if needed) I'm getting soooo close! mrbonkers
did you run with -x? or it might be that com.apple.boot.plist has a flag -x. the file is located in library/preferences/systemconfiguration Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/97850-first-time-setup-not-working/#findComment-700573 Share on other sites
jizzle
Things are still not working. I can't seem to get it work at all. try this http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=96717 i have the same issue, i've done numereous installs, sometimes it works (not mentioning the solution above), some times it gets stuck, try the above given solution first and let me know, if it works, if not, reinstall Leo and then wait for about 5 minutes where it says "keyboard cannot be identified" and click ok and when u get to the next screen wait for another 2-3 minutes and then procede, this might help, but not garaunteed:P, next time post ur specs too (keyboard brand and all) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/97850-first-time-setup-not-working/#findComment-700575 Share on other sites
