Lucas86
Hallo everybody, I am new to OSX86, so please be patient I would like to install OSX86 on WD USB HDD with FAT32. In my notebook I have already installed WinVista. I would like to boot to Leopard without any touch to MBR on notebook HDD. If I unplug USB HDD to be able to start Vista... Can I easily install iAtkos or Leo4all or Kalyway to do it? Can you post few steps how to do it... I cannot find it on this forum... Second question is, if the OSX86 can damage my notebook... Thank you very much Have a nice day!!! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/97754-install-on-usb-hdd/ Share on other sites
BlackFire
Even if you can install leo onto a USB drive, it will take a rather long time to load since USB 2.0 bandwidth is garbage for this kind of thing. If your going to attempt to install on an external drive try using eSATA (if you have it supported) or Firewire. I haven't tried it for one simple reason. My external drive is my backup drive (USB and Firewire). I'd rather keep that intact. Second question is, if the OSX86 can damage my notebook... No more then Winblows can. Matter of fact, probably less then... <( ^^, <) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/97754-install-on-usb-hdd/#findComment-698390 Share on other sites
Lucas86
I know about slow speed of USB, but it is only for test. So, I only choose target drive my USB HDD and MBR on it during install. And my Windows in NB will be intact? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/97754-install-on-usb-hdd/#findComment-698466 Share on other sites
