Hmmm, how to answer this... :angry:

It certainly helps to be somewhat tech savvy. However, depending on your system, and how compatible everything is, once OS X is installed successfully it is very much like running XP. Most things take care of themselves, and of course- if you want to you can tweak the techie stuff to no end. But if it installs and runs like it does on my system, I think you'll find OS X much easier to use every day than any Windows OS.

 

Things I would suggest:

-give us a list of your hardware, so we can give more specific advice.

-BACK UP all your important data, especially if you plan on making a dual-boot system. You can always reinstall Windows, but lost data is usually lost.

-download and install 10.4.3 8F1111A with the JaS patch v4.2b. I think this is currently the most stable, and most compatible 'out of the box' with x86 hardware.

 

Also before installing- read a lot, and make sure you feel ready. You can ask questions here too.
