xhopesfall24
Hello, I have my hard drive partitioned for an OS X install.. but I don't have a DVD burner (Yes, I know they are cheap.. but so am I!). Any suggestions on other possible ways to install it? I do have a secondary hard drive installed and a laptop I could use. Just throwing what I have available for use out there. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/97634-question/ Share on other sites
xhopesfall24
No suggestions? Any way I can use my desktop to install os x onto my laptop? Or any safe way to burn the iso over multiple CDs instead of one dvd? lilSoldier
Well you can either mount the ISO and install through VMware, or you can *try* and extract the disk image onto a hard drive and try booting off that. lilSoldier
I can't remember exactly how to do it, but there should be a setting for an optical drive (i.e. which drive to use) and you can set that to an ISO i believe. Kwaaku
ye ah, dont know muchabout it, but used to use programme called daemon tools in windows. It simulated a virtual dvd drive in my computer. Used to use it to watch or write dvd's without burning the iso's first anyway it would be someting to start with, but the windows bit isn't helpfull. theres a lot of VM'ers out there. Easier to put the .iso un a usb key & get someone to burn it for you (use 4x to avoid errors) . They only cost bout 25p.
