HP Pavilion dv6458se

AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60

160GB hard drive; 2048MB DDR2 SDRAM

I downloaded the iATKOS v1.0ir2 iso and burned it to a dvd for install on an unallocated partition on my hard drive along with Vista which is currently running. As soon as the disc boots up the countdown starts and I press F8 to enter "-v". Whether I do this or not, I get the response "/Library/Preferences/SystemConifguration/com.apple.Boot.plist not found" and then the countdown restarts.

I was wondering if there is something wrong with the iso I downloaded or if the install I have is just wrong altogether but I can't even get the actual installation to begin.

I was hoping someone would know what the problem is and have a possible solution. Thanks!

I figured it wouldn't hurt to try a different release for installation so I followed this guide for my AMD computer

and encountered a new problem. The exact image I used is titled "ToH_x86_9A581_RC2" and I'm pretty sure I did the patch job correctly (pretty hard to screw that up). The problem occurs when I cold boot the DVD to begin the installation. The disk whirs and the screen goes black with a blinking white underscore in the top left corner, and then nothing happens. Eventually the Windows loading bar appears as if to load up Vista, but then that disappears as well.

Is the patch for a different .iso or is there something else I'm missing? It's strange that neither disk will even get as far as the Apple logo.

Both distros that you tried are not for the AMD CPU. You need to get Zephyroth or Leo4all distibution

However your boot.plist not found error may be due to non standard IDE drive, in which case you may have to use an external USB DVD drive
