Okay, here's the deal. I want to get the best version of OSX running that I can. One that lets my Radeon 9600xt work with 3D (QE and CI would be nice, but I'm really just after OpenGL) and my wireless card work (WMP54G v4). It's okay if they don't, but it sure would be nice.

----------------------------------------

This is the hardware/software available to me.

----------------------------------------

2.0Ghz Intel Pentium 4 (SSE2)

2 Harddisks in the target computer

---1 80Gb (used by windows/Linux) (I'm willing to get rid of Linux to install OSX)

---1 20Gb (used for data/apps storage for Windows) (I'm willing to move my data to the first disk to make this one totally empty.)

iPod 30Gb with plenty of free space. (I have USB 2.0)

An ancient clamshell iBook G3. CD drive is busted, running final version of OS9. (Can be used to work HFS+ magic?)

No DVD burner/reader.

VMware / Virtual PC is available, as is a fast internet connection to download any files I may need.

A very good working knowlege of Linux, should that come into play.

What should I do? Most of the guides rely on me having something I don't have, such as a DVD burner/reader, or a working OSX 10.4.1(or other) install. I know it will work once it's there, it's just how to go about it.

I was going to just try various things, but I figured it would be a good idea to ask first, in case anyone else had been in a similar situation and figured it out. It's a long haul downloading things from Bittorrent, so I want to make as few as possible. How would I do this with as little effort as possible. I'm looking to work smarter to get this done, not harder.
