Alright, well I have been searching around the forum, but can't find a solid answer. I have an Acer Aspire 3680-2022 laptop working great with leopard. I installed the Kalyway 10.5.1 dvd and everything worked except the wifi, nic, and sound. I was able to get the wifi working so for this second the NIC isn't that big of a deal. My main problem is the sound. After install, there is a volume control icon which I can adjust the volume up and down with, but I get no sound from the internal speakers. I haven't tested the jacks. In the sound settings it is set to put the sound out through my internal speakers, and i tried all the other settings as well. This is with the Kalyway, I tried with the Leo4All dvd and that gave me no sound driver at all. So with the Kalyway 10.5.1 install what can I do to get my internal speakers working?? Also, if anyone knows how to get the NIC card working on this laptop that would be great as well. Thanks guys!

ok seeing i have a aspire 3680, and i got working internal sound. i just need to know, is your laptop 1.73 GHz Celeron M, and does the wifi card on the bottom sticker read "Atheros AR5BMB5"? im not sure what the rest of my string is. all i know is its a 3680, with a 1.73 GHz processor. also, did sound from your internal speakers EVER work? like when you first installed leopard?

EDIT: just saw your sig. you have the same laptop as me, except mine came with a 120 GB hard drive ^_^ if you want full instructions on how to get your sound working 100% properly, i just need to know if it was working in the first place. if it was, you can have sound.

The sound worked with windows, but never with kalyway since I installed 10.5.1. I found a kext here on the forums which got the sound working from the internal speakers, but the headphone jack doesn't work. Not that I plan on using it, but does your headphone jack work? Now I am onto my next problem, were you able to get your Wireless AND Nic working? I was able to get my wifi working, and then i was able to get my NIC working, but when I got my NIC working it killed my Wifi, lol. It shows I have the card but that the airport is turned off and when I click to turn it on, nothing happens.. err.. There has to be a way to get them both working!

may i suggest forgetting about kalyway and go with iATKOS v1.0i ive had 0 problems with iATKOS, however it seems that everyone thats using Kalyway on acer laptops has had nothing BUT problems... once you get iATKOS installed, come back here and i'd be happy to help you get sound working. and btw, yes, i have sound working from internal speakers, headphone jack, microphone input works, wifi, ethernet everything works on my laptop except for the PCMCIA slot, the memory card reader, the internal microphone, and the s-video output jack. i dont care at all about any of those though, so its no big deal.
