MustardTheoRy
I have seen people claiming they recieved better benchmark scores with 10.4.4. Contrary I have noticed higher system and user % resource use from within activity monitor; from my own experience with 10.4.4. Since it is easy to compare; being able to dual boot either 4.4 or 4.3. I believe 4.3 runs smoother than 4.4. It also seems my HDD works harder and is noticeably louder in 4.4 than 4.3. Possibly 4.4 may be taking advantage of disk access options in A03 bios. Anyway, whats your opinion with experience using 10.4.4 on pc or ppc. ripoflive
Yeah. It seems like the more updates....the slower our machines get.... Which makes sense btw because more hardware is being recognised/used which makes the overall performance lag a little.... ced1610
the only problem is that after the 8f1099, apple have implemented a new openGL sync prefs, for having same perfs in user interface and other video than in 8f1099, do this in terminal and reboot : sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver Compositor -dict deferredUpdates 0 test with Xbench and enjoy guys with new os than emulate Altivec now !!! Careless
lock contention test in 10.4.4. was more than DOUBLE the 200 to 220 i got in 10.4.3. and most of the programs that had weird video issues, like the robinhood game, were totally playable. it was only for testing though. i dont think ill play that game. bluedragon1971
While my XBench scores went down with each new release from 10.4.1 to 10.4.4, they have shot back up with 10.4.5. In 10.4.3 and 10.4.4, I was getting scores in the mid 30's, now I'm getting scores in the high 50's, or even a 60 if I disable beam sync!
