xxx
Hello, I currently own a mac but it's too slow and I'm getting annoyed at apple not bringing out the intel power mac. I don't want such a twiddly little screen for my mac as on the imac so I guess I will have to build one with pc hardware :/ What is the perfect pc hardware setup for osx86 patched to run on? Money is no object - but everything must run as well as it does on a proper apple otherwise I'll hold out for Apple to sort their lives out. advid
something like this... motherboard w/o Nforce 4 chipset, trust me, if you use Serial ATA drives OSX won't see them 200GB hard drive - you can use something much smaller, but I like big hard drives Radeon X850 PRO(AGP) - Quartz and OpenGL work with this card mostly any cd/dvd drives you want check the wiki for good network cards - try to be flexible if you only find ethernet ones, all the wireless cards need very unstable drivers and are not worth the hassle AMD athlon64 3200+ venice processor - make sure you get the venice kind, it supports SSE3 something like this... motherboard w/o Nforce 4 chipset, trust me, if you use Serial ATA drives OSX won't see them 200GB hard drive - you can use something much smaller, but I like big hard drives Radeon X850 PRO(AGP) - Quartz and OpenGL work with this card mostly any cd/dvd drives you want check the wiki for good network cards - try to be flexible if you only find ethernet ones, all the wireless cards need very unstable drivers and are not worth the hassle AMD athlon64 3200+ venice processor - make sure you get the venice kind, it supports SSE3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9647-perfect-osx86-setup/#findComment-60144 Share on other sites
