Tiger might work, again with only vesa graphics, which would be lousy, waste of time. You could fit a cheapo/oldish geforce graphics card and try again but the older the technology, the more the 'time is money' equation comes into play. The whole ethos with Apple is soothing ease of use. There are worse hobbies, however! You will find what I think Apple have found - that a lot of Hackintosh owners also end up buying entry level Macs and attracting others to the Apple platform. Software versions will cease to run as the hardware becomes outdated.
