Hi All

Im Kind of new to this but i was wondering if it is possible to:

Create a live bootable version of OS X 10.4.1 for an intel imac.

My hope in the end is to get the version of 10.4.1 that you can install on a PC to boot up a PC just like knoppix does.

What i really need to know is if this has been tried and does it work?

thanks

well... 10.4.1 is now waaaay old. most folks are on 10.4.3 these days, with a few on 10.4.4. i think a 10.4.3 liveCD would be nice - i know this works on ppc macs as i have a livecd of sorts for my powerbook (in case of emergencies)

A live cd eats up memory and we all know how much mac os likes lots of memory as it is... HOWEVER a live cd would be a valueable tool for sure, it may help with the installation of current and future builds of the os.

I've done some research and have found several things that may be of interest to anyone wanting to experiment with this

CharlesSoft BootCD - NOT COMPATABLE WITH TIGER

CloneX - not sure if it's compatable with tiger either

Either of these would require a lot of tweaking to work with intel builds, if you could manage to get them to work at all. They would probably have to be run through an emulation layer...
