I have XP installed on a HD set as Master and OSX on a HD set as slave. When both hard drives are plugged in I get a disk failure. When one or the other is plugged in it works fine. I have Acronis OS Selector installed but it does not seem to really do anything. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

Make OSX drive MASTER as well as XP drive. I wouldn't use Acronis OS selector because I don't think its needed. All you need to do is boot and start pressing the ESC key until the standard boot screen pops up, then select the drive you want to boot from and enjoy. When booted into OSX, you will see the windows drives, but won't be able to use them. When booted into XP, you won't see the OSX drives because windows doesn't recognize that format.

You MAY need to put each drive on its own bus, however. I have one as an IDE drive, and another as SATA and everything works flawlessly. Do you have an unused bus?

how about making the osx hdd as primary active and just use the native darwin bootloader under osx ( and check again the jumper setting of the master and the slave and cabling, topmost is for the primary and the middle for slave under daisy chain, maybe u got sata, this will not apply)
