germike
Currently i have a dual boot setup that i select from the bios boot disk. I have 3 harddrives in my system 2 for vista 1 for osx86. When selecting from the bios start, everything works fine. Now i want to be able to select from the normal windows boot manager selection screen, i tried easybcd and i tried manually selecting the chain0 file that i got from my leopard disk with bcdedit. Whatever i do i always end up with the "Chain booting error". My disks look like this under vista: you can see disk1 which has leopard on it. This is with a kalyway efi setup. Can anyone help me to get my system to dual boot without using the bios ? Thanks ! Coadey
There are two ways I know of to boot into OS X from other OS's: Use an MBR partition table for your OS X drive. MBR is supported natively by all bootloaders. Use a GUID-aware boot loader, such as boot_efi from netkas. Personally I prefer to use an MBR partition table. Can anyone help me to get my system to dual boot without using the bios ? Thanks ! Hello germike, during the weekend I successfully installed winxp and osx leo (kalyway version) to HD on my Acer5220. First I partitioned my hd with paragon partition manager, installed xp to primary1 partition, then set the boot flag active for primary2 partition and formatted it to fat32. during install of leo with external monitor i erased this partition to Mac osx journaled and installed succesfully kalyway10.5.1, then applied the updates to 10.5.2 + kernel update 10.5.2 + Leo graphics update installer v1.0. After tarugas kext is used without reboot then appleHDA kext (all from from acer5220.zip). so far everything is OK. I sent you another PM with question on sound subject with taruga's v1.20 (AppleHDAPatcherv1.20.zip) since I am not sure whether I have everything ok. All above is written just to let you know - so far my installation is ok. I plan to add 2x linux and FreeBSD as well - but need to read more doc about FreeBSD. It seems FreeBSD cannot go before extended linux partition - the best to have it as last primary partition. Hope these lines will help you.
