fontace
Is there a way to pre-install Mac OS on a Mac like it was done by Apple in factory? I would like to help a friend to sell his MacBook by installing Mac OS without having to create a user, setup preferences, etc. This was originaly done at first startup of the machine... SpeedfreaK
install it and when it wants to reboot, shut it down Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95794-how-to-pre-install-mac-os/#findComment-683288 Share on other sites
fontace
Thanks SpeedfreaK, but there is no reboot at the end of the installation. The laptop came with 2 DVD, both are used to install Mac OS X Leopard and there is only one automatic reboot before inserting the second DVD. At the end, I must simply click on "Continue" to eject the DVD then the "Welcome" animation comes directly followed by the "Set Your Location" question... Do I shutdown at that point? How do I do it... by pushing the button for x seconds or with a keys combination? How do I do it... by pushing the button for x seconds or with a keys combination? Just hold down the power button and when you restart it will start at that point again. SpeedfreaK
2 dvd for leo? i thougt that when i installed leopard that after the installation my imac rebooted (like when you install tiger). how does the laptop goes from the os installer (which is not full os x) to your just installed leopard? is that second dvd a dvd with extras? and does the laptop rebootes after the first dvd and then bootes os x and then installs the extras? it's probably that Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95794-how-to-pre-install-mac-os/#findComment-683374 Share on other sites
Colonel
Turn it off as soon as the Welcome setup screen appears. Then when the new owner/user reboots, they'll be at the setup screen just like they would've if they had gotten a brand new mac. fontace
@SpeedfreaK Yes, the second disc contains the extras. As they were installed by Apple, I reinstall them also. Thank you (all) for your help, I will try to power off the machine after the Welcome animation...
