Hi!

I have the following configuration: AthlonXP 2500+ 2GHZ (SSE2- no SSE3!)

1GB RAM

XFX GeForce 4 MX440

CD-RW NEC

DVD recorder LG

Will OSX86 run on this PC? (I think yes)

What I must download osx86-fully-patched-sse2-rosetta-ati.iso or version with maxxus patch??

thx for reply

Probably not... the Athlon XP series only has SSE1 instructions.. not SSE2.

Sorry....

But i ran some utilities (3d mark 2001), which told me my processor supports SSE2.

And that is Sempron no AThlonXP. sry for mistake

There are 2 Semprons: socket A (462) and socket 754. One is based on a AthlonXP (462) and will not work, the other is based on a Athlon64 (754) and will work.

I know that there is a x86 emulator (qemu) that supports sse2 emulation... so it is possible to install osx on a sse only cpu, but it is only slightly faster then pearpc...

Now it is my understainding that the sse2 requirment comes from darwin86 needing sse2... wouldn't it possible to mod the darwin kernel to have sse2 emulation?
