The Master
Does it matter, that "About This Mac" is reporting my memory as being 8gb 800mhz SDRAM, rather than the "DDR2" I've seen on real Macs? (It is DDR2 RAM. The speed is correct though). Does it make any difference at all, and if so, can I do anything about it? Or is it purely cosmetic? The Master
Doesn't anyone know the answer to this? I've tried searching the forums a few times but all I ever find is people asking the same question, and getting ignored just like me :/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94910-sdram/#findComment-684151 Share on other sites

LioNEXT
my feeling is that system profiler in hackintoshes may not be reliable. I overclocked my 667 mhz ram to 823 (using 2.5 multiplier with 9X333) and system profiler still shows it as 667 mhz. tried running geekbench and xbench and they too reported 667 mhz with not much appreciable speed increase, just mere 7-10 points for xbench. However my bios shows it with 800 settings. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94910-sdram/#findComment-684307 Share on other sites
