i tried to enable ahci...but whenever i tries to boot into xp...blue screen of death comes...whereas when i tried to boot into vista...it boot fines but no ide drives are visible incl. my dvd writer...

plz somebody help me out how to enable it on successfully..

disable it back, xp and vista would run as earlier, and leopard will work too. This hack helped me...

Or, if you want to work with ahci, then you need to reinstall windows )

No, you CAN install the AHCI drivers for XP without re-installing.

CHECK out this GUIDE

 

It works fine, I have a double-boot with XP on the same disk as 10.5.1 and all is wunderbar.

I prefer using AHCI in Leo because of hot-swap and things seem to work snappier.

my problem of not able to see ide drives in vista has been solved..i.e. now my vista is fully functional under AHCI..by doing some registry editing... :P

but still xp is not booting up...still the same BSoD is coming...

plz help me out.. <_<

Try this, it's for ICH9 but it uses the same principles I think.

 

But before you do that, search this thread for information. They seem to have the same motherboard setup.

And.. Have you changed legacy IDE mode to native? Because that might help.
