(Like mine -> MSI P965) You better write your board model and brand then you might get a working answer. SMF Posted March 21, 2008 Share Posted March 21, 2008 Knowing what kind of board you have would help - someone can help you with the settings available on your board. As a first step go into BIOS at boot and take a look at what's available. You are looking for onboard controller settings. In my case I have a Gigabyte P35-DQ6 with IDE optical drives on my JMicron but SATA drives on my ICH9R. To install OSX I have to set my JMicron to IDE and OSX will then boot off the install DVD. Filipe Tolhuizen Posted March 22, 2008 Share Posted March 22, 2008 That's the sort of problem I'm experiencing, but in my case, the DVD is connected to the JMicron controller and it won't boot any OS X 86 DVDs (I tried every single release and all of them say that /com.apple.boot.plist is missing). exman Posted March 22, 2008 Share Posted March 22, 2008 Yes, you have to set Jmicron controller in BIOS to AHCI. However, leave SATA Configuration to IDE. You'll need a SATA HDD and DVD drive.
