digicide
I'd be ungrateful I think if I didn't post my success here-- I used this image successfully on my v2000z laptop, AMD Turion 64. Here's the steps for any interested: Use Acronis as directed in the description of this file to make a partition or 22.5 gigs (I don't think the format matters, but i think it has to be active) use hiren's boot cd to restore the ghost image onto that space install the macdrive trial for windows and place in Z: the AMD_Enabler folder from the patch solution, grab mach_kernel.amd out of prepatched and rename it without the amd extension and put it in Z:, replacing the existing file place com.Apple.boot.plist from the patch solution into Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration, replacing the existing one delete /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext (or rename it to disabled or whatever) Place in that same extensions folder AppleOnboardATA.kext by scousi, available on this forum, and disable or delete the generic and onboard ATA kexts found in IOATAFamily.kext/plugins (something close to IOATAFamily at least....) locate IO80211Family.kext, navigate in to contents/somethingBRCM.kext... anyway when you get down in there somewhere there's an info.plist, open it and change the number 4324 to 4318 (I think it's the only 4324 in there...) to enable wireless enable acronis boot selector and make it allow a multiboot between the two partitions boot the mac os partition, hit a key to get to boot options, type -s for single user mode, type fsck -fy mount -uw / cd /AMD_Enabler chmod 755 patcher ./patcher cpuid_patches.txt | tee result.txt | less you'll have to push 'q' after this chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions kextcache -e -z -a i386 kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions -z -a i386 sync reboot voila, os x without usb, sound, with a stretched screen, but with wireless and mouse and keyboard support. thanks julien!
