yucong Posted February 20, 2006 Share Posted February 20, 2006 first post..i am from singapore...the HCL listed that my laptop sounds , video and wlan is working fine...can i reconfirm that? http://global.acer.com/products/notebook/tm290.htm# ( the above link is my laptop ) I am quite a com noob here but i realli feel that OSX is real cool here are my laptop hardware list CD/DVD drive -- > QSI CD/RW/DVD SBW 242 IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller -- > Intel 82801 IEE394 COntroller -- > VIA OCHI Compaliant IEEE394 host controller Sound -- > Realtek AC97 audio ( i am scare that this wont work ) Processer -- > Intel M processer 1400MHZ ( Its SSEU 2 ) Network -- > INtel pro/wireless Lan 2100 3B mini PCI Adapter Graphics -- > Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Grahpic controller SO guys? which of the parts cant be used in OSX? really thanks for the time needed from you.. Im sure it would work if I could actually install the damn OS, but it just isnt playing. R. Bear Helms Posted February 20, 2006 Share Posted February 20, 2006 Some AC97 sound needs some editing of a plist file in the kernel extension. I believe either an edit to the extension or a replacement AC97 .kext file may be needed for sound.
