-illusionz-
I installed the AMD version of Leopard, and like every 5 seconds, things stop responding. For example, I'll type something, and it will show up like 5 seconds later. Sometimes I'll click things, and it doesn't register until like 10 seconds later. I went into the Activity monitor, and the Kernel was taking up like 90% of my CPU power at times. What's up with that? Personal Jesus
That's weird.... Kernel should never take up that much. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94505-random-lag-hiccup-slow-down-things/#findComment-676735 Share on other sites
Macshiba
I had that problem when I was using the iATKOS v1.0 installation, but after updating the kernel with the 9.2.0 netkas universal kernel, it stopped. Personal Jesus
You mean how you replace the kernel with the default? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94505-random-lag-hiccup-slow-down-things/#findComment-677367 Share on other sites
-illusionz-
Don't you just add to the kernel not replace it? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94505-random-lag-hiccup-slow-down-things/#findComment-677455 Share on other sites
Macshiba
I renamed my old kernel as mach_kernel_old, and then placed mach_kernel in root, and then repaired permissions. You can also place the new kernel in root, as new_kernel, then reboot and press F8, then type new_kernel, and it should boot with the new kernel. Then you can edit your com.apple.boot.plist and add new_kernel to the kernel flag.
