kinetix63
Hi All, Pretty new to the OSx86 scene - and I'm after some help. From doing some digging around on here, I can see that installing 10.5.1 on motherboards that have IDE DVD Drives running through a JMicron controller is a bit of a to say the very least.... I get that the most suitable ways to fix this problem are either via an external USB DVD drive, or using a SATA DVD drive. Unfortunately - I do not have either of these, nor do I have access to either of them. I do, however, have a pretty large USB Stick. Is there any way I can extract the Kalyway ISO on to this and get it to boot? Or, can anybody point me at a guide that would let me install this natively via VMWare? (I did search but I couldn't find anything). Any help very gratefully received. kinetix63 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94180-kalyway-1051-and-jmicron-controllers/ Share on other sites

Arial
yup, my Abit IP35-E wont boot on JMicron IDE. External USB doesnt solve the problem. Then I bought a SATA DVD-RW. everything's fine I tried Kalyway & iAtkos 1.0i r2.
