Paramount
I have "successfully" installed the Leopard 10.5.2 in my AMD Sempron (with SSE3). Previews I had Tiger 10.4.8 (JaS AMD SSE2-SSE3). With sound, keyboard, boot, working good (video NOT, because this machine have a onboard video from VIA... so... no CE/QE). But now, with Leopard, I can`t boot... and my sound isn't working. I have tried everything to boot from my HD. I get a "b0 error", or a "HFS+ Partition Error". I tried the fdisk method (set the first partition active - I have only 1 partition, Leopard, no dual-boot). And I have tried to restore the EFI v8 too... But, I still can't boot from my HD. I need to put the install DVD into the drive and boot from there... It's quite annoying, because I need to F8, and put hd(0,0)/mach_kernel -x "Graphics Mode"="1280x1024x32" So... I can't reboot all the time. And for Sound, in Tiger, I needed to use Azalia to get my sound working, I have tried it in Leopard too, but without success. If someone got it working, please let me know how. My machine: AMD Sempron 3000+ (SSE3) MB: K8V-VM Audio: Realtek ALC660 6-Channel Codec Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94094-problems-with-amd/ Share on other sites

Paramount
Have you installed the darwin boot loader? For your sound problem look into this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=32859 I have tried the AppleHDA Patcher... but I don't have the driver for the audio in linux... and neither know how to get one. I saw a thread with one kext for ALC660... but after install.. it didn't work. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...100#entry572848 --- About the bootloader... how do I install it? What I have tried: * Boot in single user mode ( in install DVD boot - F8 - hd(0,0)/mach_kernel -s ) Then: # cd /pc_efi_v72 # ./startupfiletool /dev/rdisk0s1 ./boot_v8 # dd if=./guid/boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s1 bs=512 count=1 # dd if=./guid/boot0 of=/dev/disk0 bs=400 count=1 After this... I only get: HFS+ Partition Error. I'm using GUID partitions. Paramount
Well... some update. The problem with boot, I resolved with reinstaling the Leopard with a MBR partition scheme. But... still no sound. Some debug info: bash-3.2# kextload -t AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/ kernel extension AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/ has problems: Authentication failures: { "File owner/permissions are incorrect (must be root:wheel, nonwritable by group/other)" = ( "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/Contents/Info.plist" "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/Contents" "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleAzaliaAudio" "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/Contents/MacOS" ) } Missing dependencies: { "com.apple.iokit.IOHDAudioFamily" = "No valid version of this dependency can be found" } I'll repair the permissions and see what happens. Check this thread to see how you can do this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=92014 After making this dump you can drag it into the AppleHDA Patcher and see if it works.
