Yuusharo
You'll have to replace the Apple SMBIOS kext file to have your system reporting correctly. Mac.Nub's version seems to work pretty well. Just pick the one that corresponds to your ram: http://my.macdotnub.info/content/view/19/26/ About This Mac will still report it as "2.4ghz Unknown Processor" after you use it. You can modify the name by following these instructions (this is a cosmetic changes only, it won't affect your performance in the least): http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry617937 http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=83689 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/93929-cpu-mhz-about-this-mac/#findComment-671346 Share on other sites
Hakemon
I'm curious. Is the CPU speed reporting issue only cosmetic? For example, my system profiler says my RAM is DDR 400MHz, but in reality, it's DDR2 800MHz. If it's only a cosmetic issue, I can ignore this. komeet
Yes. Actually it doesn't matter what system profiler says. It's just cosmetic and doesn't influence the system in any way. So don't worry. EDIT: I forgot to mention that some programs check these values to decide if they can run on this system or not. But in your case I think you can disregard it. Hakemon
Ok, great. I don't care about cosmetics on what OS X "thinks" it has. Like on my Cache thing, it says I have 0KB instruction cache.. If this was true, I think OS X would have taken ages to boot, if at all. I'll let it be then. Better to let it run that to accidentally screw it up. bar1
Thanks' !! i'll tray that . by the way i have test my cpu speed with 1 frame rendered on Maya with my XP partition and i got the same result (even the Leopard is a bit faster so maybe it's only cosmetics ..
