I had Tiger 10.4.8 from the JaS suite.

I did an "Upgrade" from the Kalyway 10.5.1 DVD, and while the install suceeded, when it boots, all I get is a blue screen with a mouse cursor.

When I fresh install on another HD, it boots fine.

I have important data on this HD... PLEASE HELP!

you can always use the migration assistant

Doesn't that only work if it's from different computers?

Here's the problem, which I don't think you fully understand..

20GB HD: Temp test install of Leopard

80GB HD: Upgraded from Tiger, blue screen with documents..

documents will NOT fit on the 20GB HD and I have NO way of even using another medium...

I just want to know why it didn't upgrade, and how to fix it, be it from a CLI.

You can try getting a IDE to usb or SATA to usb adaptor to connect your 80gb drive, once you've booted onto your 20gb drive. Then copy all your important files from your 80gb drive to your 20gb drive.

After that reinstall your 80gb drive on your pc and start from scratch.

Backup your files next time, is the lesson to learn.

My files were far to large to fit on the 20GB HD.

Thing is, I did have a backup. But that servers HD recently failed..

I booted up with the 20GB, and burned a bunch of DVD-Rs with my files on it (I was able to leave the SATA 80GB connected to the mobo, I used the BIOS's built in drive selector), and have succeded to getting moved into leopard..
