Which version for which pc topic

Hello,

I'm new here, although I have been around the forums for 2 days.

I'm not that good with computers, so for people like me it could be good to make some sort of list for which version (which ISO) would work best for my pc.

Ok, so now for the question part: "Which version (ISO) should I use if...

1. I have a Pentium 4, 3,2 gHz, no duo core and SSE2.

2. I have a AMD Turion TL56, Core2 Duo, 1,8gHz and SSE2+SSE3."

Now I kinda figured it depends on your hardware, motherboard etc, but is there a way we could seperate the different versions available and help people choose the right version.

Thanks in advance. ;)

There are many variables involved, and picking the "best" is not always a clean cut, black and white answer. I would recommend poking around the forums, and reading the wiki. Specifically the HCL's.

Staying with your idea, perhaps a thread listing each distribution, it's strong points / changes from retail / reason for existence may be helpful... Unfortunately, I do not have the know-how to create such a list.

for the intel, use kalyway 10.5.1 if you dont have a sata drive.

ive run into issues with sata drives.

for the AMD use zephyron's amd leopard 10.5.2 disk.

both can be found on "the bay" if you know what i mean ...we are not allowed to link to downloads

after the 10.5.1 kaly, get the combo patch to 10.5.2 then the leopard GFX update from apple.

do not use the 10.5.2 from apple
