iDerf2006
'ello. I have a Dell Inspiron 1150, and reall, I am NOT happy with Windows on that thing. I'd like to install OS X86, 10.4.3, 8F1111a, JaS Patch. I have completed this install under VMWare on the same machine, and natively on a machine with these specs (2.4GHz, Pentium 4-Celeron, 1.25GB RAM). Installation completed successfully without the slightest hitch on this machine. OS X runs perfectly, faster then my Mac Mini in certain tasks. Now I'd like to install it on my Dell Inspiron 1150. I popped in the DVD, the normal "Press any key to install" or whatever message came up, grey apple screen appeared, and before the spinning circle even came to life, it got the "You must restart your computer." panic. Has anyone gotten this to install? If so, how? Any tricks that may get me up and running? Thanks. JWise1203
From my very limited experience ... it could be that your DVD drive cannot read the DVD file system properly. If you have access to a USB DVD-R drive you may want to give that a shot. This has happened to me the two times I have attempted to install OSX and each time using another drive has worked for me.
